Re the stats on increasing percentage of NZers with a degree and the increasing sex imbalance:

We don’t need affirmative action for men, but it’s certainly time to put an end to any schemes still existing that involve affirmative action for women.

We don’t need so many people with bachelor’s degrees. And there are too many “grievance studies” degrees that are essentially useless, impossible to fail, and amount to no more than training in academic activism and nonsensical ideologies.

Ultimately it comes down to what the govt is willing to fund. I’d reduce the funding for degrees of dubious value (obviously very subjective!).

Thanks again Ani for doing all the digging and research for us and presenting unbiased information. As for the ICE shooting situation, I am still in two minds because I cannot tell from the videos what the officer was really faced with, though why not let the silly woman drive off instead of standing in front of her vehicle, she wasn't presenting a physical threat to that point? Thanks too for the Andrews & Cofnas articles links. I had read Andrews and was firmly in her court but now see a different angle, and was especially surprised about Cofnas comments re Andrews 'As editor of the American Conservative.' I still question though why it is middle aged white women who march in pro-Palestine protests, who try to block journalists from physically investigating Somali 'childcare centres,' who seem to want to protect illegal immigrants even when they have proven to be disruptive and damaging to American communities, and who try to block ICE agents?
